2. Digital Service & Subscriptions

2.1. Service Description

CalcWood provides access to premium woodworking calculators. Access is granted via a paid subscription model.

2.2. Payments and Auto-Renewal

Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to recurring billing. Your payment method will be charged automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. All displayed prices are final. I may change prices or the scope of PRO features in the future. Any material change affecting an active subscription will apply no earlier than the next billing period, and you may cancel your subscription before the renewal if you do not agree with the change.

2.3. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You will retain access to PRO features until that period expires.

3. Refund Policy & Right of Withdrawal

Due to the nature of digital content and immediately provided online services, payments for an already activated billing period are generally non-refundable. During checkout, you may be asked to explicitly consent to the immediate delivery of the digital content or service (PRO features). By giving this consent, you acknowledge that you may lose your 14-day right of withdrawal under applicable EU consumer law for the already provided digital service. This does not limit any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law.

4. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer (IMPORTANT)

CRITICAL DISCLAIMER: ALWAYS MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE.
While I strive for maximum accuracy, the CalcWood software is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. I do not guarantee that the calculators are 100% free of bugs, software logic errors, or calculation mistakes.

By using CalcWood, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Verification is Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for manually verifying all dimensions, clearances, and calculations provided by the software before making any cuts, purchasing materials, or beginning assembly.
  • Limitation of Liability for Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, I shall NOT be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this software. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Wasted wood, hardware, or other materials due to incorrect cuts.
    • Financial loss or lost time on a project.
    • Personal injury or property damage resulting from structural failures, improper use of tools, or reliance on the calculated dimensions.
  • Not Engineering Plans: The calculators are intended as a helpful planning guide for hobbyists and professionals. They do not constitute certified engineering, architectural, structural, safety, or official manufacturing documentation.
  • Units, Rounding and Tolerances: Results may be affected by unit conversions, rounding, material tolerances, hardware manufacturer specifications, tool accuracy, humidity, deformation of materials, installation conditions, and other real-world factors.
  • Local Rules and Professional Verification: You are responsible for complying with all local building, safety, fire, structural, consumer, and professional regulations in your country or region. For critical, load-bearing, safety-related, or legally regulated projects, you must consult a qualified professional and verify all results against official documentation and manufacturer instructions.

5. Intellectual Property & Copyright

All content on the CalcWood website, including source code, calculation logic, SVG graphics, PDF outputs, configuration links, wording, and design, is my exclusive intellectual property unless stated otherwise. By purchasing a subscription, you are granted only a limited, non-transferable, single-user license to use the calculators for your personal or business needs. You may use your license key on a maximum of 5 of your personal devices. It is strictly prohibited to copy the code, share your license key with third parties, publish or resell protected outputs as your own software, scrape data, bypass technical restrictions, reverse engineer the application, or use automated tools in a way that harms the service.

6. Termination of Service (Account Ban)

I reserve the right to immediately suspend, limit, or cancel your access to PRO features without a refund if you violate these Terms of Service, misuse the service, share your license key, attempt to bypass technical protection, attack the system, copy the application, overload the service, or use it in a way that may harm CalcWood, its users, or my business. To protect the service, I may use reasonable technical measures to detect license abuse and suspicious activity.

7. Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution

If you are a consumer residing in the EU and a dispute arises between us that cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, you have the right to seek out-of-court dispute resolution. In the Czech Republic, the competent authority is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz). You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.

8. Service Availability, Changes & Technical Protection

CalcWood is provided as an online digital service. I do my best to keep it available and reliable, but I do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent availability, compatibility with every device or browser, or error-free performance. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, hosting issues, third-party services, payment providers, CDN outages, security measures, or unexpected technical problems. I may update, improve, restrict, replace, or discontinue individual features if needed for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or further development of the service.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby I provide you services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic. Any legal disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence dictate otherwise.
